Abstract


ANALYSİS OF THE READİNG TEXTS OF YUNUS EMRE ENSTİTÜSÜ TEXTBOOKS THAT NAMED “I AM LEARNİNG TURKİSH” AND THE VİSUALS IN THESE BOOKS İN TERMS OF ROOT VALUES

Values are one of the most important elements that keep a society alive. Although it differs from society to society, some have universal characteristics. The values expressed as root values by the Ministry of National Education are thought to appeal to every society. The transfer of value is important in teaching Turkish both as a mother language and as a foreign language. In this study, it is aimed to examine the reading texts and visuals in "I am learning Turkish (3 and 4)" textbooks of Yunus Emre institute in terms of root values. When the reading texts of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü "I am learning Turkish 3 and 4" are examined, it is seen that total root values are given 92 times. The most commonly used value was love repeated 26 times, followed by self-audit (15) and responsibility (12). The least mentioned values are honesty (1) and justice (2). When the visuals of these books are examined, it is understood that there is a concordant result with the text contents. In the visuals, it is seen that root values are given 106 times in total. It is understood that the values that are mostly included are love (33), responsibility (16), friendship (14) and self-control (14). The least mentioned values are patience (1), justice (2) and patriotism (3). The value of honesty is not included in the visuals in both books.
